Dear Ursuline Alumnae,

OUR FONDEST FAREWELL
It has come to our attention that we will have to say, ‘So long’ to two of our most cherished Ursuline Sisters who will be leaving us very shortly to retire at Ursuline’s Queen of Peace Community in Alton, Illinois: Sr. Damian Aycock and Sr. Joan Marie Aycock. From the time they were students here in the 1930s, Sr. Damian and Sr. Joan Marie have dedicated their lives to Serviam at Ursuline, New Orleans in many capacities over the years here. Alum Returns to Share and Motivate History Department and History Classes.

On Monday afternoon, the History Department arranged for Jamie Baker ‘03 to address the Senior Macs and Junior Skips during activity period. Presently, Ms. Baker works for Sen. Mary Landrieu (D-LA) within the senator’s Washington, D.C. office.

Ms. Baker took the time to express the satisfaction she receives from working for the senator and participating in the most admired democracy in the world. Read the rest of this entry »

ANNUAL HERB BLESSING
To join us for our 12th Annual Blessing of the Herbs on the Feast of the Assumption on Friday, August 15, 2008, please RSVP to the Alumnae Office at your earliest convenience at 504.861.9114 or alumnae@ursulineneworleans.org. Mass will begin at 11:00a.m.in the Shrine, after which we will honor Sr. St. Francis Xavier Hebert with the traditional blessing over the herb garden, followed by our Sisters’ Commemoration in the Sacred Heart Courtyard.
