Alumnae Update

Dear Ursuline Alumnae,

ANNUAL HERB BLESSING
To join us for our 12th Annual Blessing of the Herbs on the Feast of the Assumption on Friday, August 15, 2008, please RSVP to the Alumnae Office at your earliest convenience at 504.861.9114 or alumnae@ursulineneworleans.org. Mass will begin at 11:00a.m.in the Shrine, after which we will honor Sr. St. Francis Xavier Hebert with the traditional blessing over the herb garden, followed by our Sisters’ Commemoration in the Sacred Heart Courtyard. We will then gather in the cafeteria for refreshments.

In the past, we have gladly welcomed herbal specialties from our alumnae who would like to have their favorite herbal recipes sampled. SERVIAM ANNUAL FUND DRIVE
The dedicated Chairs of the 2008-09 Alumnae Leadership Team are currently searching for Class Captains for this year’s SAF! Packets and pledge cards will go out after Labor Day. As a Captain, you would place reminder calls, notes or e-mails to 5-10 of your classmates reminding them to turn in their ‘08-’09 pledge cards before the Phon-A-Thon in early October. There will be no asking for money: it’s just a reminder. Also, you don’t necessarily need to reside locally in order to be a Captain. You may place your calls and e-mails from home if you choose!

Our goal is to get enough people on board so that we may distribute the list of classmates evenly. The more Captains we have per class will lessen the number of calls each individual will need to make. If you are able to help us out in this capacity this year, please contact the Alumnae Office within the next couple of weeks at alumnae@ursulineneworleans.org or call 504.861.9114.

Mark your calendars now for the SAF Family Day Mass and Breakfast on Sunday, October 5, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. in the Shrine! We hope you’ll be able to attend.
