UA Athletics in Full Force This Week; Softball, Soccer, UBALL, and Tennis

Ok, we have a ton of UA ATHLETICS News for this week. There is something for everyone so we are sure we will see you at a few of these events.

Tuesday:
UA SOCCER continues its march to the state championship when it faces off against Newman in the biggest game of the year. Newman is seeded as the # 2 team in the state playoffs. Coming off of its 4-0 win over St. Michael’s, UA SOCCER has spent the last few days focused on The Greenies. Our Lions may enter this game as the underdog, but we are certain that UA SOCCER is going to come up big in this game. We are all behind you, UA SOCCER. Take it to Newman!

UBALL continues its quest for a third consecutive undefeated district season on its way to the Academy’s first state title. UBALL is ranked as the # 1 ranked team in CLASS 3A. On Tuesday, the team will travel to the campus of Xavier Prep. JV is scheduled for 5:00pm and Varsity to follow. With a win on Tuesday, UBALL would move to 5 – 0 in district play and clinch the district title for the third consecutive season with one game to play. Wednesday
UA TENNIS
The defending Regional Champions return to the court in defense of its title. UA TENNIS has its season opening match this Wednesday when the Lions face off against the Cubs from Mount Carmel. The game will take place at 4:00pm at the UNO Tennis Facility. Make plans to see one of the area’s best tennis teams as UA SOCCER starts its season.

Thursday
UA TENNS
Yes, they are back and playing again. UA TENNIS will be at the UNO Tennis Facility for the second consecutive day as this time the team faces off against Sacred Heart. This game will also have a 4:00pm start.

Friday
UBALL
In its last district game of the season, UBALL looks to put its final touches on the state title run that will begin next week. UBALL will play St. Mary’s Academy in our MBO Athletic Center beginning at 5:00pm. As of today, the game is scheduled for Friday… if this changes, due to any conflict with the start of parades, we will let you know.

Saturday
UA SOFTBALL
The softball season starts next week. However, get a glimpse into this season by seeing our team as it participates in the Redemptorist Jamboree on Saturday. Opponents and Game Times will be announced later this week and we will inform you once we hear from Coach Garrison with the final decision (from the Jamboree host).
