The first graders went on a spring field trip to the Insectarium. The students have studied all about insects in science class, so it was fun to see the insects up close and personal! Some of the students had fun not only viewing the insects, but also trying out a few bug delicacies in the cafe’. Chocolate chip cricket cookie anyone?

3/30/09 Update from Kim Shankle, Principal

It’s hard to believe that we are already at the end of March and are now entering our fourth and final quarter. Third quarter report cards were mailed home on Friday and should be accessible on Ed-Line.

On Friday, the Skips ‘10 put their books and pens aside and traveled to the National World War II Museum for a day of hands on learning. Each year, Mr. Cordes and the History Department take the sophomores to the museum. The field trip coincides with the students’ World War II lecture within the Western Civilization course. Unfortunately, the Skips ‘10 were unable to visit the museum last year due to a scheduling conflict with a Biology field trip. The Skips ‘10 were disappointed and figured that they were going to be the first class, since the opening of the museum in 2000, not to visit. However, Mr. Cordes promised the class that they would get to visit the museum next year….. “I promise…. no matter what, we will go”, said Cordes. Read the rest of this entry »

Please join us on April 2nd for Eucharistic Adoration. The adoration of the Holy Eucharist will begin at 7:30am and conclude at 3:00pm. Adoration will take place in the National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor.

The High School Mother/Daughter Luncheon will be held at the Hilton Riverside on Sunday, April 19 at 10 a.m. The cost is $35 per person. Please RSVP to the HS Office by Friday, March 27. Tickets WILL NOT be sold at the door.

3/23/09 Update from Kim Shankle, Principal

The Elementary School Scholastic Book Fair will be March 23 – 27.

Academy students in first through twelfth grades will be performing -The Wizard of Oz- on April 2 – 3 at 7 p.m. in the Auditorium and again on Sunday, April 5 at 4:30 p.m. following the Spaghetti Supper. Make your plans to attend now by calling the office at 866-5260 to reserve your seats.

The Easter Holidays will be Thursday, April 9 through Monday, April 13. All classes reaching 100% in ticket sales will also have off on Tuesday, April 14.

The High School Mother/Daughter Luncheon will be on Sunday, April 19. The Elementary School Mother/Daughter Luncheon will be on Sunday, April 26.

Congratulations to Daisy Miller ‘10 for being named Student Body President -elect. Earlier today, the student body cast their ballots and Daisy won the election.
