Pre-K recently held a Mother/Daughter Tea Party and Fashion Show in St. Ursula Hall. The girls created special, hand-painted tea cups for their mommies. After modeling their favorite tea time fashions, they all enjoyed eating springtime cookies and spending time with their mommies and friends.

Thank you to every person that took the time to cast a ballot in our recent online poll. We asked our viewers to grade the recent Night of the Stars Athletic Banquet and to also offer comments about the ceremony. Here is a summary of the results.

The overall opinion was VERY GOOD with 45% of the votes
second place went to EXCELLENT with 19% of the votes

Here are a few comments that were suggested:

  • Everything was great! It was an outstanding and entertaining evening
  • A photographer on hand would have been a nice addition, so some of the pictures could have been included in the year book.
  • IT WAS AWESOME! This was our first year for the High School Award ceremony so we didn’t know what to expect. My only wish is that it can be downloaded somehow onto the website to share. There are family and friends that love to know what my daughter is doing and accomplishing and my little update flyer could not do this event justice. Again, IT WAS AWESOME! And congratulations to ALL the Nominees, the MVP and MIP Winners and of course our Top Honorees. I can’t wait until next year!
  • Loved the slide show during and between awards. Just need to work out a few minor kinks.
  • It was amazing, every player of any sport seemed to enjoy themselves!

An overall concern about the award’s presentation (via comments received through our web poll) was that the evening last too long. We will forward this concern and any additional concerns/comments to the Athletic Department and High School Administration so that they may address these comments / concerns prior to next year’s ceremony. All comments submitted on our web site will be forwarded to the Athletic Director. Therefore, even if your comment does not appear in this article, it was read.

We have received word from Athletic Director Bekki Bonnaffee that the volleyball program will hold tryouts on Friday, May 15th beginning at 3:30pm and concluding at 5:30pm. The tryouts will be held inside of the Marjorie Barbier Ourso Athletic Center. Tryouts are scheduled to continue on Saturday, May 16th beginning at 10:00am and concluding at 12:00pm.

Please Note: Saturday’s tryout (continuation of tryouts) will be by invitation only. Players will be informed whether to attend Saturday’s tryout.

Good Luck to all prospective players.

Last season, UA VOLLEYBALL made it to the second round of the playoffs and in 2007, the team advanced all the way to the State Semi-Finals. Come be a part of this winning tradition.

Middle School elections are taking place this week. Good luck to all the candidates! Parents please help me in conveying to the students the importance of healthy competition and kindness to one another. It takes a lot of courage to run for an office or go out for a team, inevitably some are going to be disappointed; therefore, we all need to pull together and support oneanother.

Retraction: There was a mistake on the Elementary May calendar (pink sheet). The New Parent Reception on Saturday, May 16th is from 5:00-7:00 p.m. NOT  7-9p.m. Read the rest of this entry »

The Merry Macs Take Their Place as Number 282; What A Wonderful Class to Reflect Upon

It is late on a Saturday evening and we have so much to do. We have to escort nearly 1,000 people out of the auditorium…wait we did that. Well, we have to clean up the courtyard following a great reception hosted by the Scotties of 2009… wait, the courtyard is clean. Well, we have to write about this morning’s Baccalaureate Mass and how the Merry Macs are now the newest members of the alumnae association…oh come on its the same answer over and over again. True, we have done a lot today but there is one thing left to do, and for us here at Ursu-online, it is the greatest honor we have been given this year. Starting here…starting right now.. we get to pay tribute to the Class of 2009. This review is one literary work that we have been eagerly awaiting to complete. With that being said, lets get started.
