The first meeting of the year will be on Sept. 21 at 6 p.m. in the Lions’ Den.
As always, dinner will be provided.

Please try to make this meeting, as there are some new things we want to try to initiate this year, and your participation is vital if we have any chance of making some changes.  I’ve received a significant level of interest from new parents this year, so I expect to see lots of new faces at this first meeting and hope some of our veteran Dads will come out to meet the new parents.

The following is a proposed agenda. If anyone has any additional ideas, please send me an e-mail and I’ll try to work it in (and, of course, please come to the meeting to share your ideas with the group).

Proposed Agenda:

I.       Planning for Upcoming Events

a.       Logistics and Planning for Athletic BBQ on 10/27

b.      11/5 – La Fete – Possible Dads’ Club Involvement beyond Setup/Take-Down (as well as setup/take-down)

II.     Discussion of New Projects

a.       Golf Tournament

b.      Other School Projects (maybe pick one to focus on for year – I have a list we can review)

III.    Dads’ Club Business

a.       Discussion of Club Structure, Including:

         i.      Creation of Formal By-Laws and Officers – Pros & Cons

ii.      Proposal to Change to “Mens’ Club” and open membership beyond parents of current students (think parents of alumni, grandparents, etc.)

b.      Discuss Idea of “Room Dads” – goal of getting one Dad per homeroom to actively participate in the Club

c.       Discuss Meeting Schedule for Remainder of Year

d.      Discuss Possible Changes to Meetings, Including:

          i.      Would the Club like to have guest speakers?

ii.      Any interest in a 50/50 raffle?

iii.      Anything else that might make you more likely to attend (e.g., would different food selection help?)

IV.             Open Discussion
