  1. What is the amount of tuition?

    Tuition and fees for the 2010–2011 school year are $8,300. This amount includes all required payments with the exception of uniforms, books / supplies and optional lunches. All students, regardless of grade, pay the same tuition.

  2. What is the admissions process?

    A student who desires to attend Ursuline Academy should fill out an application, submit the appropriate application fee and provide her most recent grades, as well as the prior 3 years of grades and standardized test scores. Additionally, applicants for admission to the elementary school are required to take an Ursuline-administered admissions test. A personal interview is required of all high school applicants.

  3. Are there any admissions requirements for Ursuline Academy applicants?

    Ursuline Academy admits students of average to above-average intelligence. Generally, to be accepted, a student should have no grade below a C, no discipline problems and standardized test scores in the range of 65% for high school applicants and 70% for elementary school applicants. Additionally, applicants for the elementary school must score 70% or higher on the Ursuline-administered admissions test.

  4. How are students notified of whether or not they are accepted?

    All admissions decisions are made by the Ursuline Academy Admissions Committee. The committee’s decisions regarding admission is communicated in writing by the admission director and mailed to the applicant’s home address.

  5. When is Open House?

    Open House is Saturday, Oct. 30 from 1 – 3 p.m. Sign in for all tours is at the main entrance on State Street.

  6. When should I apply?

    Applications are accepted beginning in the fall for the following school year. Students applying for elementary school are tested in January or February. Any student may apply after that time if space is available. Students applying for high school should follow the deadlines for high school applications as set by the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

  7. How do I get a tour of the school?

    Attending the Academy’s Open House is the best way to ensure a tour. If you are unable to attend the annual Open House, Elementary School tours are conducted on Wednesdays in January. Tours are at 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. For more information or to request a private tour, e-mail admissions@ursulineneworleans.org.

  8. How can I arrange for my daughter to spend the day at your school?

    Any student applying to 5th through 9th grade may spend one day at Ursuline Academy. To arrange for a date to spend the day, please call the Admissions Office at 504.866.5292. Generally, a student may spend any day that is a regular class day for Ursuline Academy students. Students who have arranged for a Spend-the-Day through the Admissions Office should arrive at 7:50 a.m. at the student entrance, 2635 State Street. The visitor should wear her school uniform and bring a book with her. Generally, the school day dismisses at 3 p.m. and the visitor should be picked up at the same entrance where she was dropped off. If the visitor does not attend a school where a uniform is required, that student should wear appropriate church clothes (no shorts or jeans) to spend the day at Ursuline Academy. You may request a specific student or be paired with one of our student ambassadors.

  9. How do I get information about the school?

    Brochures can be requested by calling the Admissions Office and leaving your name, mailing address and the grade you are interested in applying for on the voicemail or by filling out the form on this website. Brochures are mailed weekly.

  10. How can I be added to the Ursuline Academy Mailing list?

    Simply e-mail the Admissions Office at admissions@ursulineneworleans.org to have your name added to the list. Please include your full name, email address, mailing address, phone number, current grade and elementary school.
