On Friday, January 6, Ursuline Academy celebrated the upcoming Feast of Our Lady of Prompt Succor, to whom the Shrine is dedicated, and Epiphany. Students were joined by several of the Ursuline Sisters for the celebration. Sr. Carla Dolce, OSU, gave a brief reflection after Mass reminding students of the great love which God has for them and inviting them to make use of the Shrine to Our Lady of Prompt Succor to “talk with Our Lady.” The public celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of Prompt Succor will take place on Sunday, January 8 at 3pm.
Ursuline kindergarten students celebrated the season at a Christmas tea party on December 20. After returning from the early childhood Christmas program in the auditorium, they were surprised to find that their classroom had transformed into a festive tea room. They had a splendid time gathered around a decorated table filled with holiday snacks and tea pots.
Ursuline elementary students, under the direction of Renee Barras, presented “Snow White” to a packed auditorium on November 9. The lively performance showcased bright and creative costumes and wonderful performances by elementary school actresses. The play even included audience interaction, much to the delight of the elementary students in attendance.
On November 6, Pre-K and Kindergarten students were visited by Snow White (Ursuline fifth grader Diana Ledet) and “Snow White” director Renee Barras. Diana spoke with the students about what it’s like to act in a play and Ms. Barras discussed what goes into directing a play. She brought out some props that the volunteers eagerly modeled. On November 9, the students were able to see the elementary school production of “Snow White” in the auditorium. Click here to view photos from the performance.
