UA Athletics wants to promote school spirit with all of our upcoming playoff games and meets. The bookstore will be selling blue and white Spirit TuTus as well as coffee in the mornings. The tutus should be worn by any of our UA fans at any of the upcoming sporting events. The volleyball state championships are local (unlike the cross country and swimming which are out of town) and admission cost is $10.00. We want to encourage the student body to come out and cheer the team on at the Pontchartrain Center in Kenner. Money raised from coffee and tutu sales will be used to buy tickets for some lucky students who will win free admission to the Pontchartrain Center.
The MBO Athletic Center was the place to be on Tuesday evening as the JV and Varsity volleyball teams hosted John Curtis for the Pink Game and the Dad’s Club held their annual BBQ to honor Ursuline’s athletes. Students, parents, and friends enjoyed hamburgers and hot dogs prepared by the dads as well as treats from the Pink Game bake sale. Both teams wore pink uniforms and many in the crowd wore tie-dyed Pink Game t-shirts. The final figure for the donation to be made to the EJ Cancer Center, this year’s beneficiary of Pink Game fundraising, along with the Spirit Competition winner will be available Wednesday afternoon.
