This past weekend Ursuline Academy sponsored the first annual Catholic League Tournament in the Ourso Athletic Center. Ten Catholic high schools competed for the new honor. Schools represented were Catholic of Point Coupee, De La Salle, Domincan, E.D. White, Academy of Sacred Heart, St. Scholastica, St. Thomas More, Tuerlings Catholic, Mt. Carmel and Ursuline Academy. The tournament was a big success. Coach Juan did an excellent job organizing the tournament. The UA volleyball parents were outstanding and were a big reason for that success. The parents volunteered to run the gate, sell concessions and t-shirts. In addition to these duties, the dads cooked a huge pot of tasty jambalaya, grilled burgers and hot dogs. The big hit was the “Chicken Caesar Wrap” made by former chef Kerry Johnson (Meagan’s dad). The group worked together, enjoyed the company, and supported our team which made it to the finals only to lose to Mt. Carmel. It was a great showing for UA and only proved the point that Ursuline is truly a big family!
