Kris Hugel and Shelby Schmitt set their own personal records yesterday in the Javelin. Kris Hugel placed 1st and is the district javelin champion throwing 104′ yesterday. Shelby Schmitt placed 4th throwing 92′. Lauren Parker set a new school record jumping 5′4 in the high jump,she placed 2nd.

The Seniors did an excellent job in leading way yesterday in the District Meet. Congratulations to Elissa Parker and Caroline Knecht. Elissa is District Champion in the 300 meter hurdles and Caroline is District Champion in the 1600 meter run.
Our 4x 400 meter relay also place 1st and they are District Champions. The members are Elissa Parker, Alex Thomas, Caroline Knecht, and Kealani Gaspard. These girls brought home the gold. The top four finishers in each event move on to the Regional Meet.
The field events are today. They will begin at 4:00 PM. Please come out and support the team.

Congratulations to Elissa Parker and Caroline Knecht, District Champions in the 300 meter hurdles  and the 1600 meter run, respectively.

The4x 400 meter relay also placed first capturing a  District Championship.  The members are Elissa Parker, Alex Thomas, Caroline Knecht, and Kealani Gaspard.

The top four finishers in each event move on to the Regional Meet.

High School Cheerleading try-outs will take place in the MBO Athletic Center at Ursuline Academy on April 23rd, 24th, and 25th. Monday, April 23rd and Tuesday, April 24th will be clinics with try-outs on Wednesday, April 25th. There will be a mandatory parent meeting on Monday, April 23rd immediately following the clinic. If you wish to try out, it is mandatory that you attend both clinics, the parent meeting and try-outs. Please wear athletic clothing, gym shoes, hair pulled back, and NO jewelry.
April 23rd – 3:00-5:00 pm (with mandatory parent meeting immediately following)
April 24th – 3:00-5:00 pm
April 25th – 5:00-7:00 pm

We ended our regular season with a bang. I am very proud of the girls. District meet is next Tuesday at East Jefferson High School. The field events begin at 4:00 PM. The running begins at 6:30 PM.

Spring sports athletes were honored at with a pep rally.  Senior Mac cheerleaders, Lionettes, and golfers were presented with flowers as part of their Senior Day celebration.  The cheerleaders performed for the student body.  The Lionette seniors had prepared a special dance and thanked Mrs. Schmitt for her work with the program for the past five years.  Finally, Mr. Walters celebrated the top students in his annual Mad Two Minutes competition.

Hannah Michael, a five-year member of Ursuline’s soccer team, will play in purple and white for Spring Hill College next year.  Hannah signed her athletic scholarship in St. Ursula Hall on April 3. She was joined by family, friends, teammates and Coach Winston Lewis for the occasion.

We’re made state! They took 4 teams. We finished 4th. Holland, Syd, and Meg all shot personal best scores.
Before the tournament began, we knew we had to beat either Lakeshore or Mount Carmel to get in. We defeated both.
Next match is state tournament at Alexandria on the 25th and 26th.
We also just found out that we won the inaugural Metro Tournament (the one that was suspended last week due to rain and finished today). Quite a day!

The UA golf team qualified for the state tournament after defeating both Lakeshore and Mount Carmel.  Holland Ledet, Sydni Sumas, and Megan Johnson all shot personal best scores.

The state tournament in Alexandria on April 25th and 26th.

Additionally, the golf team won the inaugural Metro Tournament (which was suspended last week due to rain and finished on Tuesday). Quite a day!

Monday and Tuesday had the UA softball team making up rainouts.
First at East Jefferson winning easily 16-0 behind a no-hitter by Meta Hight.
The Lions would then face district rival Cabrini. The Lions would take a 4-3 lead but can’t hold on and lose 6-4.
Tuesday would see the Lions face Cabrini again with the chance to share the District 10-4A championship.
After falling behind 1-0 the Lions explode for 4 runs in the 5th and 5 in the sixth to win 9-4.
8th grader Gabby Brown had 4 hits, scored 2 runs with 1-rbi to lead the attack.
The Lions finish the regular season 14-13 overall, 7-1 in district and Co-champions of District 10-4A
