The UA basketball game this Friday will be varsity only beginning at 6:00.
Ursuline Academy defeated McMain High School 58-19. Jenna Deemer led all scores with 20 points. Cassidy Eymard was the team’s second leading scorer with twelve points, and third leading scorer was Maya Scott with eleven points. Other scorers for the Lions included Sami Adams with five points,Kris Hugel and Bailey-Ray Jackson with four points each, and Irianne Nicholas with two points. Ursuline Academy plays in the Vandebilt Catholic Tournament this Friday and Saturday. The Lions are now 5-3.
Ursuline Academy defeated ED White High School 61-26 in the first day of the ED White Cardinal Classic. Jenna Deemer led all scorers with 28 points. Samantha Adams was the team’s second leading scorer with nine points, and third leading scorer was Maya Scott with eight points. Other scorers for the Lions included Irianne Nicholas and Cassidy Eymard with six points each, and Kris Hugel with four points. Ursuline Academy plays South Lafourche on Friday, December 2, at 7:30pm, in the second day of the Cardinal Classic.
Ursuline Academy defeated St. Thomas Aquinas in the first home game of the season 73 to 57. Jenna Deemer led all scores with 30 points. Maya Scott was the team’s second leading scorer with 14 points, and third leading scorer was Irianne Nicholas with 11 points. Other scorers for the Lions included Samantha Adams with 10 points, Cassidy Eymard and Kris Hugel each had 4 points. Cassidy Eymard was team’s leading rebounder with a total of 9 rebounds. Eymard also led the team in steals with a total of 8. Ursuline Academy is now 3-1 and will compete in the ED White Cardinal Classic on December 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
Ursuline Academy’s Basketball Team competed in the Dominican Thanksgiving Classic on November 21st -23rd and won 2 out of 3 games in the tournament. On November 21st, Ursuline defeated South Lafourche 54 to 45. Jenna Deemer was the leader scorer with 28 points, and the second leading scorer was Irianne Nicholas with 15 points. Other scores for the Lions included Cassidy Eymard with 7 points, Maya Scott with 2 points, Kris Hugel and Samantha Adams each had 1 point.
On November 22nd, Ursuline Academy lost to Helen Cox 49 to 45. Jenna Deemer was the leader scorer with 23 points, Cassidy Eymard was second with 9 points. Other scores for the Lions included Irianne Nicholas with 5 points, Kris Hugel and Samantha Adams each had 4 points.
On the last day of the Dominican Tournament Ursuline Academy defeated Dominican High School 60 to 56. Jenna Deemer was the leading scorer with 22 points, and the second leading scorer was Irianne Nicholas with 15 points. Third leading score was Cassidy Eymard with 14 points. Other scores for the Lions included Samantha Adams with 6 points and Maya Scott with 3 points. The team’s record is now 2-1.

Coach Lanie Griffin would like to thank all of the fans for coming out and supporting the team, the students for being supportive and wearing their white playoff t-shirts, and especially the faculty who attended for the first “Faculty and Staff Appreciation Night.”
The team plays again on Monday, Feb. 21 at St. Michael’s in Baton Rouge at 6 p.m. This will be round 2, the regional round of the playoffs.
